I have this exact same error trying to mount a Mailbox Store. I just installed Exchange 2007 into a test environment within an existing Exchange 2003 Organization. Everything is in Native 2003 mode, (2- 2003 DCs). I have1existing Exchange 2003 server in the single domain/forest. No matter what I do, I cannot get the new server to mount a Mailbox store. I have trieddeleting the store and the Storage Group created by default , re-created both, and still cannot mount a new Mailbox Store. I have noticed that theserver doesn't even create the .edb file?? The Public store mountsjust fine. ExchangeBest PracticesAnalyzeryields no useful information or misconfigurations. The install seemed to have gone fine with no errorsand a brief search of the install logs yields nothing out of the ordinary. Is it possible this is some sort of permissions problem? I am logging onto the server with the same account that I used to install Exchange 2007 with and my account is a member of the Enterprise Admins, Schema Admins, Domain Admins, and Exchange Org Admins.
